Our Team

The Detroit Creativity Project was founded in 2011 by a group of working artists who had strong ties to Detroit. All had a common mission - to give back to Detroit's young people and make sure they have the same opportunity to succeed. Their vision was the launch pad for our partnerships today with Y Arts Detroit and other nonprofit organizations working with young people in underserved communities of Detroit and neighboring cities. Meet our founders.

We partner with Y Arts Detroit to provide daily oversight of The Improv Project and the University of Michigan evaluates our programs. The teaching artists who lead our classes have formal improv training and are experienced teaching improv to youth and young adults. They have specialized training in cultural competency and strategies to engage at-risk youth. Learn more about our partners.

Our donors give their time, talent, and money to support our programs. Join the community of change-makers dedicated to giving Detroit's young people tools to succeed.  Meet our supporters.
