The Detroit Creativity Project
The Detroit Creativity Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2011 by a group of working artists who got their start in Detroit. We believe the arts are a crucial part of every child’s education, and yet it is often the first thing cut when funding is tight.
Learning an art form like improvisation helps children develop the skills we all need to succeed in life – critical thinking, good communication, and empathy, to name just a few. Through free improv classes, Detroit’s young people are building confidence and taking a more creative and collaborative approach to school and life. That can be life changing.
