Ellen Veenstra serves on the DCP Board of Directors. Dr. Veenstra is an improviser and psychologist. She has a private practice in Newport Beach CA and also serves as an adjunct professor at Azusa Pacific University. Ellen has researched the theory, principles, and practice of improvisation, and wrote her doctoral dissertation on the use of improvisation in psychotherapy. Dr. Veenstra has used improv to teach clinical skills to doctoral psychology students. She has also used improvisation in group therapy with federal inmates and persons with schizophrenia. Originally from the Detroit metropolitan area, Ellen now lives in Irvine CA.
