Ellen Veenstra serves on the DCP Board of Directors. She is an improviser and psychologist specializing in family therapy. Ellen has a private practice in Newport Beach CA and also serves as an adjunct professor at Azusa Pacific University. She has researched the theory, principles, and practice of improvisation, and her doctoral dissertation focused on applications of improvisation in psychotherapy.
In her clinical practice Ellen has applied improvisation in her work with doctoral psychology students and in group therapy with federal inmates and persons with schizophrenia. Originally from the Detroit metropolitan area, she now lives in Irvine CA.
